This past year has been very exciting for Friends of Hale Cook and with the opening of Hale Cook at Hartman next month, we anticipate even more great things to come. As a nonprofit board, we are looking to grow in our capacity and expertise and are opening up three additional board seats for August 2013-June 2015 board terms. The Timeline

We are moving quickly to fill these three seats before the school year gets started. Our proposed timeline is as follows:

  • Deadline to apply: August 1
  • Shortlist candidates: August 2
  • Candidate interviews (possibly): August 3-4
  • New proposed members invited to first board meeting: August 6
  • Newly appointed board members invited to attend first day of school activities: August 12

Roles & Responsibilities

As an active board of a 501c3, we have certain obligations as board members which are outlined below:

  • Attend monthly board meetings
  • Attend a board orientation
  • Participate in one subcommittee
  • Make a $100 tax-deductible donation
  • Commit a minimum of five hours/month to board-related activities
  • Participate in at least one school event per semester
  • Serve the full term through June 2015
